Hello everyone,
It's time to give you an update on the documentary. So far we've had some really fantastic and interesting interviews that we can't wait for you to see!
We still have another week of filming coming up and are very excited about the contributors.
The project is due next month so there's still plenty of work to be done but for now we're on track. There has been fun behind the scenes which you can see a preview of on the Videos page or in the gallery and we'll be bringing more to you over the next few weeks.
Now, allow me to introduce you to some of the contributors that appear in Child Free By Choice:
Carey Kendzior is a married Christian lady from Mississippi, USA who does not want children and has recently undergone a hysterectomy. Carey got in touch with us after finding the website and agreed to be in our film, and what an absolute pleasure it was chatting with her!
Doris Mfazwe is a senior registered nurse who has been involved in sterilisation procedures in both England and South Africa. She herself was also sterilised at the age of 40 so she's an expert on all avenues of female sterilisation.
Chloe Long is a student in her twenties who we contacted after learning that she is one of the many who are adamantly against female sterilisation. She chats to Megenta about her views and why she believes sterilisation should not be an available option.
As part of Megenta's journey, it was important that we look the reasons why she doesn't want children and what those closet to her think. Claire Balcombe is Megenta's mum and you can hear if she supports Megenta's choice when the film debuts
Finally, as you can see all of the contributors so far are women but after doing our research we realised that many men also have a lot to say about female sterilisation. This week coming we are holding a focus group where Megenta will chat with a group of males to hear their views and have an open conversation about women choosing to be child free when it is an acceptable choice for men to make.
We're very excited for you all to see the film and learn more about a topic that is close to our hearts.
